Grant Applications

NETTLETON GRANTS: submission requirements and additional information

  1. Submission should be no more than four pages, including the IRS Determination Letter.
  2. Duration of funding is one year and organizations may re-apply for an additional, consecutive year.  In re-applying for a second consecutive year, the organization must submit an interim report by September 30.  If grants are approved for two consecutive years, the organization must wait one year before applying again.
  3. Requests must be received no later than October 1st..   Applicants will be notified in December/January of grant status.
  4. Both new and existing programs are considered.  Capital Improvement grants are outside the scope of eligible projects.
  5. The amount of grant per organization is typically less than $50,000.
  6. We encourage diversity in the grants submitted.  The Foundation is inclusive in its decision-making.  George H. Nettleton Foundation has the sole discretion to award grants in accordance with its mission.
  7. Grant requests should be submitted via the Nettleton website, using the forms provided.  Or these forms may be completed and mailed to George H. Nettleton Foundation, PO Box 8707, Prairie Village, KS 66208.  If mailed, please provide 10 copies for board distribution and the post mark must be on or before October 1st.
  8. If funded, all grant recipients must provide written reports to the George Nettleton Foundation addressing how grant funds have been spent and the extent to which goals for the grant have been achieved.  We require a 6-month preliminary report submitted no later than September 30 of the grant year and a final report submitted by February 1 of the year after the grant was awarded.
  9. If the funds have not been fully spent by February 1, then a supplemental final report must be provided when the grant funds are spent.

All reports are to be submitted through the website or directed by email to the Board President Susann Riffe, at [email protected] .We will not award further grant funds to entities who fail to provide these reports.

Funding provided for transportation to and from medical appointments for those unable to drive or without public transportation options.

Medical

Provision of medical and/or dental services to improve basic physical functioning and overall quality of life.
